Demographic development of Russia and its regions is discussed in the Congress Hall in Ufa on the All-Russian seminar devoted to the 15th anniversary of adoption of the Cairo action program on population.
The organizer of the event of the Russian scale is the Institute of the Politico-Social and Legal Studies of the RB Academy of Sciences with the assistance of the Administration of the RB President, the Health Protection Committee of the RF State Duma and the United Nations Popular Fund (UNFPA). Sergey Lavrentiev, the Counsellor of State under the President of Bashkortostan, welcomed the participants of the All-Russian forum on behalf of the head of the region.
Karl Kulessa, UNFPA Representative in the Russian Federation, scientists and specialists of the Independent Institute of Social Policy, the State University — Higher School of Economics, Bashkir State University, and also representatives of legislative and executive authorities of the Russian Federation, Bashkortostan Republic, constituent entities making Volga Federal District and of scientific communities participate in the work of the seminar.
Presentation of the report named "Social and demographic development of Russia. The Cairo action program: 15 years later" prepared on the initiative and under the aegis of the office of UNFPA in the Russian Federation will take place within the framework of this event. Independent experts will present their analysis of the socio-demographic development of Russia over the past 15 years from the moment the Cairo action program was adopted. This is an international document stating the basic aims and goals in the sphere of population.
Problems of social and demographic development of Bashkortostan in the context of the Cairo action program will be discussed on the forum.
