For the first five months the index of industrial production in Ufa made up 106,1%, as compared with the same period of time in 2009. The head of Ufa administration Paul Kachkaev reported about it at today’s news conference. According to him certain positive shifts are observed practically in all spheres and only two branches don’t reach the 100% — barrier: food production and production of transport vehicles and equipment.
Positive changes are indicated in the house building. For the period between January and May 146 thousand square meters have been put into exploitation in Ufa — by 9,9% than in 2009 for the same period of time. In a whole till the end of the year it is planned to build up 600-620 thousand square meters of housing.
About 200 million rubles will be allocated for reconstruction and major repair of roads in the city. Originally, as the Ufa Mayor said, there were no such plans.
Positive changes are observed in the labour market of Ufa too. For the first time since the beginning of the crisis the number of job vacancies has exceeded the number of unemployed in Ufa. At present time the coefficient of intenseness in the labour market makes 0,98 in Ufa and in 2009 it reached 3,2. Therefore every unemployment citizen has a theoretical chance to find job today. But another thing is that the unemployed people and free vacancies are unevenly distributed upon the branches of industry. For example, the largest number of vacancies is accumulated in the spheres of building and machine-building. Therefore the shortage of a qualified labour force is observed in the city now.
About 700 workplaces were opened in the city thanks to putting 17 new trade objects into operation.
“By the way, Ufa holds the second place in the country among the cities with one-millionth population after Yekaterinburg by the supply with trade areas" — Paul Kachkaev mentioned – “even taking Moscow and Saint-Petersburg into account”.
The growth of wages contributes to the positive shifts in the labour market. Thus, in March 2010 the average salary in Ufa has exceeded 20 thousand rubles, making up 20 thousand 350 rubles for today.
