The delegation of Bashkortostan has left for Istanbul today early in the morning for participation in the Days of science and culture RB in Turkey. The Days will be held in this Turkish city on May 20-23.
The staff of the Bashkir delegation includes the deputy Prime-Minister of Government RB, Minister of culture and national politics RB Ildus Ilishev, the chairman of the state committee for external economic relations RB Ruslan Mirsayapov, the head of the Presidential Administration’s public-political development and informational policy dept Daniel Azamatov and other officials. The delegation is headed by the Prime-Minister of Government RB Rail Sarbaev. He will fly to Istanbul slightly later, on May 21.
In accordance with the visit’s program the Bashkir sabantuy (plough festival) will be held in the center of the city, in the Mechmet Akif Ersoy Park near the famous Church of Holy Sophia and the Blue Mosque.
Practically all Days will be held under the sign of the 120th anniversary of the prominent scientist and public activist Achmet-Zaki Validi Togan, well-known and deeply respected in Turkey. For many years the Professor Validi Togan worked at the University of Istanbul and here thanks to his scientific works he has become one of the most outstanding specialists of Turkology in the world. That’s why the international scientific-practical conference “History and culture of European nations: the past, the present and the future”, devoted to the 120th anniversary of the scientist, will be held here, at the University of Istanbul. It is organized by the Academy of sciences RB, the Institute of history, language and literature RB, the international organization for joint development of Turk culture and art “TURKSOY” and by the Ministry of culture and national politics RB. Well-known scientists of Bashkortostan and Turkey will take part in the conference.
The ceremony of signing of the cooperation agreement between the Bashkir State University and the University of Istanbul is scheduled before the conference’s opening. The National Museum RB and the National Library RB will open the exhibition, devoted to the 120th anniversary of Achmet-Zaki Validi here too, in the foyer of the University of Istanbul.
