The Days of Polish culture, devoted to the 200th anniversary of the famous Polish composer and musician Frederick Chopin, were opened in Ufa today.
The concert of Polish classical music and presentation of the book “Poles in the South Ural: the essays of the historical-cultural heritage” have taken place at the Ufa library N17.
The memorial evening party of one of the founders of the Republican Polish center and the National Polish Sunday school by Albert Penkevitch, Doctor of philology, Professor Julia Chumakova and presentation of the collection of Polish poetry “The Wise Pages of Poetry” will be held tonight in the House-Museum of Sergey Aksakov.
Tomorrow the polish guests will visit the village Oktyabrsky, where the meeting with the descendants of the Poles – citizens of the village Voldziki, and presentation of the exhibition “Live Polish folklore” are scheduled.
The discussion to the theme “The aspects of Polish language teaching in Russia and Russian language in Poland: experience, problems and prospects” will take place at the Bashkir State Pedagogical University by Miftahetdin Akmullah.
According to the all-Russian population census-2002 660 Poles live on the territory RB and 556 of them – in Ufa. The Polish cultural-enlightener center RB was founded on April 3, 1997. The National Polish Sunday school by Albert Penkevitch is opened in Ufa.
