Murtaza Rakhimov has held negotiations with Uri Akhvlediani

On May 14, 2010, the President RB Murtaza Rakhimov has held a business meeting with the deputy director of the bureau for development of UNIDO projects Uri Akhvlediani in the Republic House.

The aspects of further cooperation between Bashkortostan and the United Nations Organization for industrial development (UNIDO) in sphere of small and medium business and agriculture support and in sphere of introduction of modern energy-saving technologies were under discussion in the course of the meeting.

Murtaza Rakhimov and Uri Akhvlediani have positively estimated the existing level of interrelations between Bashkortostan and UNIDO. It was stated that joint actions were directed to support of industry, assistance to attraction of investments into the region and to control over the impact of industry upon environment. Several big investment projects, such as “POLYYEF” and UMAGUZINSKOE water reservoir with the hydroelectric station were developed in Bashkortostan jointly with UNIDO.

In opinion of the President RB cooperation with UNIDO contributes to active integration of Bashkortostan to the international economical space. Murtaza Rakhimov and Uri Akhvlediani have agreed to open a regional office of UNIDO in Ufa. In opinion of M-r Akhvlediani it will let Bashkortostan reach a new level of cooperation with the UNO structures in different spheres and realize joint investment projects more actively.

The deputy Prime-Minister of Government RB, Minister of industry, investment and innovational policy RB Uri Pustovgarov and the representative RB in Austria Vadim Pletnev have also take part in the meeting.
