March 21 is the International Day of Planetaria
In many countries of the world, March 21 is the International Day of Planetaria. This holiday is celebrated on Sunday that is the closest to the vernal equinox. This year the vernal equinox falls on March 20, that is why the Day of Planetaria will be on March 21.
"It is already 45 years that Ufa planetarium, the unique and the most unusual institution of the republic, presents the starry sky to the residents and guests of the city," the leading specialist Tamara Denisova tells. "The repertoire of the planetarium includes 18 programs both for children and for adults. They familiarize people with the wonderful world of planets and stars. And although the stellar hall of the planetarium has only 80 seats, 50 thousand people visited its shows last year."
This year the planetarium celebrate its holiday with the first night of the program for the youngest spectators named "The stellar friends of the hare Tafik". The entrance to the show will be free on March 21 in honour of the holiday.
The planetarium invites the audience for four more programs on this day: "Myths about constellations", "Adventures of Agi and Robik", "The light of Andromeda", and "The space mysteries of the Maya civilization".
From March 21 and until the end of the school vacations the planetarium will work without weekends, giving several shows every day. Ufa planetarium welcomes all those who are not indifferent to the most ancient and fascinating science — astronomy and who stare into the starry sky with admiration.
