Children's health centres will be organized in Bashkortostan in 2010 within the framework of the activities aimed at formation of healthy lifestyle. According to the press service of the RB Ministry of Health, 11.72 million roubles are going to be allocated from the federal budget for these purposes.
In 2009, 55720 children were born in Bashkortostan that is 9987 more than in 2008. Abortions have decreased in number. While in 2008, the abortion percentage amounted to 26.2% per each 1000 women of fertile age, in 2009 this figure dropped down to 24.2%. This tendency is observed owing largely to the work of 63 pre-conception clinics. The press service also mentioned that consultation of a psychologist makes allows to preserve every eighth pregnancy.
Since 2007, the Internet-system "Monitoring of pregnant women of risk groups" has been working in Bashkortostan. In 2009, this program covered 97% of pregnant women registered in maternity welfare centres of the republic.
