The VII regional Bashkir Kurultay to be held in Chelyabinsk
The VII Kurultay (Congress) of Chelyabinsk region’s Bashkirs will start working on March 20 in the city of Chelyabinsk. Chelyabinsk region holds the second place in Russia by the number of Bashkirs, inhabiting this territory, and the regional government pays much attention to preservation of Bashkir language and national Bashkir culture, to consolidation of cooperation with Bashkortostan.
The agreement about trade-economic, scientific-technical, social and cultural cooperation between Government of Chelyabinsk region and Government RB is found under realization since 2003. More than 300 delegates will arrive in Chelyabinsk to take part in the gathering.
The agenda includes the summary report of the Chelyabinsk Kurultay chairman Marselle Usupov, discussion of the problems of Bashkir culture preservation and development, election of a new chairman and a new staff of the executive committee.
