At last the first volume of the fundamental edition “The History of Bashkir Nation” has become the property of wide public. Its official presentation has taken place in Ufa Congress-Hall on Thursday with the participation of the deputy Prime-Minister of Government RB, Minister of culture and national politics RB Ildus Ilishev, the Vice-President of the Academy of sciences RB Asgat Gumerov, editors-in chief and managers of the edition, Republican public activists and mass-media.
As Ildus Ilishev said at the presentation, the multi-volume edition “The History of Bashkir Nation” is the first academic work, devoted to history of Bashkir nation beginning from the most ancient times. This project was originally supported at the highest state level; and the President RB Murtaza Rakhimov called it important not just for Bashkortostan but for Russia in a whole. The best scientists of Russia and Bashkortostan were invited to work over this edition as well as foreign researchers.
“The first volume of the edition makes the dynamics for further prospects in investigation of the problem of the Bashkir ethnic and genetic history” – the Vice-Premier mentioned – “This work used the newest discoveries and achievements in sphere of archeology, anthropology, ethnography, history and linguistics. Many problems, ventilated by the edition, are the subject of scientific disputes and demand further investigations”.
As it was already noted, “The History of Bashkir Nation” consists of seven volumes: the first volume covers the period since the most ancient times till the IV century AD, the II one – between the V and to the middle of the XVI centuries, the III volume – the second half of the XVI – the XVII centuries, the IV volume – the XIX century, the V one – the beginning of the XX century, the VI one – 1945-85 years and the VII volume – the period since 1985 and till nowadays.
The complete publication of the “History of Bashkir Nation” is planned to finish in 2012.
