Ufa suburbs attract Japanese investors

author: Michael Sytin

The opportunities of investment attraction to development of Ufa suburbs were under consideration in the course of the work meeting between the Prime-Minister of Government RB Rail Sarbaev and the director of the Institute of economics under the Japanese Association for trade with Russia and the Eastern Europe (ROTOBO) M-r Hiroshi Takahashi.

It is well-known that this vitally important project for the growing capital of Bashkortostan needs serious investments – construction of the motor-car tunnel and the bridge is the indispensable condition for development of the urban territory across Ufa-river.

The Japanese experts have become acquainted with the design documentation and visited the site of the future construction last week. They consider the attraction of long-term “cheap” credits for construction of the tunnel and construction of the bridge and wide-scaled development of the territory over the river may become quite attractive for private investors.

Some aspects of mutually beneficial cooperation in other spheres of economics were discussed too. M-r Takahashi invited Rail Sarbaev to take part in the Russian-Japanese investment forum in Tokyo in November 2010. Participation in this forum, held under the aegis of ROTOBO, will allow introducing the Republican projects to the Japanese market and attracting foreign investors.
