The art exhibition “The Spring Thoughts”, called after the picture under the same name by Boris Fedorovitch Domashnikov – the national writer of Bashkiria and the USSR – started working at the Bashkir State Art Museum by Michael Nesterov today. As the director of the Museum Faizrakhman Ismagilov said at the opening ceremony, this exhibition opens the series of the art projects, dated to the 90th anniversary of the Museum. It should be noted the exhibition is open almost one year after the official jubilee date – the 10th of April, 2009.
“This is not an omission but quite deliberate decision” – the main keeper of the museum Valentine Sorokina said – “As we believe the author himself would have done so too. 11 years ago, when we had started organizing the exhibition in honor of his 75th anniversary, Boris Fedorovitch said he would like to hold it one year later, thus dating it to the 55th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This time we’ve acted in the same way, since we know his attitude to this theme”.
Boris Domashnikov was very patriotic man, being in love with the beauty of our land and his works “May – the birch-trees”, “April, Ural”, “Awakening”, “May in Ufa” and others prove it.
“The name of Boris Domashnikov is widely known in Russia and abroad and along with Lutfullin and Burziantsev Domashnikov is the brand of our fine art” – the deputy Prime-Minister of Government RB, Minister of culture and national politics RB Ildus Ilishev said at the ceremony.
