At the XV specialized exhibition “Communication INFOCOMM”, held within the frames of the IV Republican forum “Security-2010”, the system “Safe city” is demonstrated. One may watch in real time mode how the video monitoring is running in the streets and on the squares of several towns of Bashkortostan. The monitors and the equipment are located on the stand of JSC “BASHINFORMSVYAZ” – one of the forum’s organizers.
As the specialists of the company “BASHINFORMSVYAZ” explain, the data transmission from the cams, installed in the places of mass crowd, is conducted through the own networks of the company. The length of the optic-fiber cables of “BASHINFORMSVYAZ” makes 13 thousand kilometers in total complexity and it allows the company to solve any technical and technological tasks. The main constituent of the system “Safe city” consists of the hardware, special software and the network of the cams, installed in different parts of the town. At present time the system of video monitoring works in 13 settlements of Bashkortostan. Now 357 cams are installed in Bashkortostan in the most populous places, including 268 in Ufa. The system includes the centralized network of video monitoring, the points of safety communication with the law-enforcement bodies, the control over the housing and communal services and the most problematic zones (basements and lofts), ensuring of security at schools and in kindergartens, face identification at railway stations and airports and traffic control, including identification of car numbers. In 2009 42 crimes have been disclosed only in Ufa with the help of these cams but the main aim of the system “Safe city” is the prevention of violations of the law.
