More people in Bashkortostan are willing to adopt children
The number of people adopting children has grown in recent years. In this respect, it has become necessary to prepare skilled mothers and fathers, who will be ready to take a child into their family. That is what the RB Minister of Education Zinnat Allayarov reported about at the meeting of the Interagency Board under the RB Government for protection of family, maternity, fatherhood and childhood.
"For this purpose we planning to use the potential of redundant teaching employees for the development of family institution," he said. "The work on restructuring of 4 children's homes into area centres on support of foster families is currently going on."
75% of newly revealed orphans were placed into families in 2009. According to the Minister, it is less as compared to 2008.The reasons are reduction in the total number of children deprived of parental care, reduction of children in orphan homes, and the increased number of orphans with congenital defects and disability.
Zinnat Allayarov also told about the solution of "housing problem" of orphans and children deprived of parental care. 3045 children needed accommodation at the end of the last year. 244 orphans were provided with housing from the republic's and federal budget resources over the 2007 to 2009 period. However, the amount of allocated funds is not enough to consider this question closed.
