Spring crops will be sown on two million hectares
Spring crops will be sown on two million hectares this year. The share of grain and grain-leguminous cultures in the crop structure will remain at the last year level and according to information of Ministry of agriculture RB one million 313 thousand hectares will be allotted for these cultures. The sowings of sugar-beet will increase by five thousand hectares – 59 thousand hectares in a whole. 130 thousand hectares will be allotted for sunflower – by 14 thousand hectares more than in 2009. The land area for vegetables will increase by 5,6 thousand hectares and potato and vegetables will occupy 115,6 thousand hectares.
The structure and the areas of fodder crops will be substantially changed. One million 95 thousand hectares will be allotted. In a whole the areas of fodder crops will increase by 71 thousand hectares as compared with the level of 2009. It is concerned with the increase of cattle livestock and with the necessity to improve the fodder crop structure. Corn territories will be substantially increased too since this is the excellent staff for production of haylage and silos. Besides, the state subventions for acquisition of corn seeds and fertilizers will be preserved at the same level.
