President of Chuvashia Nikolai Fedorov has taken part in the meeting re development of Chuvash culture in Republic of Bashkortostan, held at the National Museum RB yesterday. As the chairman of the Chuvash congress’s executive committee RB Valerie Sidorov reported to the news-agency “Bashinform”, this arrangement was scheduled within the frames of Nikolai Fedorov’s visit to Ufa for participation in the meeting of the Governmental commission re development of IT in Russian regions.
Minister of youth policy, sport and tourism RB Alexander Nikerin, representatives of the Presidential Administration RB, Ministry of culture and national policy RB and the delegates from practically all regions and towns of Bashkortostan, inhabited by Chuvashs, took part in the conference. Valerie Sidorov reported to the head of Chuvash Republic about life of Chuvashs in Bashkortostan. “We have much to be proud of because our nation makes weighty endowment to social-economic and cultural progress of Bashkortostan” – he stated.
The first Chuvash settlements appeared on the territory of modern Bashkortostan more than 300 years ago. Since then Chuvashs live here side by side with other nations, developing their national culture. The success, achieved by Bashkortostan’s Chuvashs in sphere of education is really impressing. More than nine thousand kids study Chuvash language at 124 Republican schools for today.
President of Chuvashia has highly appreciated the national policy, conducted by our Republic and noted high achievements of Bashkortostan’s Chuvash public communities in development of interregional relations with the similar centers in other regions of the country.
In the evening the head of Chuvash Republic along with the heads of other Russian regions has taken part in the meeting of the Governmental commission re development of IT in the regions of the country, held in the Congress-Hall, Ufa. Nikolai Fedorov reported to his colleagues about the experience, accumulated by Chuvashia in this sphere.
