The festive evening party, devoted to the 60th anniversary of Republic of India, is being held now at the National Library RB with participation of the representatives of the Friendship Society “Bashkortostan-India”, students of the Republican institutes from India, librarians and other invitees.
January 26, 1950, has become an important milestone in history of India. 60 years ago the country for the first time gained its constitution and was declared the Republic. The outstanding activist of the national-liberation movement Jawaharlal Nehru has become its first Prime-Minister. Today India stands in the line of the most promising and dynamically developing states.
Indian culture, rich national traditions and delicate Buddha philosophy were reflected in the exhibition constituent of the feast. This the exhibition of books about India from the funds of the National Library RB, the exposition of the dolls – personages of the performances by the motives of Indian fairy tales and the exhibition of sculptures and batik by the young painter Lala Galeeva. The photo-exhibition “People: faces of India” is also very interesting and Lilia Khasanova is her author. She is microbiologist by profession but it doesn’t prevent her to be engaged in photo-art. The photos, demonstrated at the exhibition, were brought by her from travels over India. In 2009 she was lucky enough to visit this country thrice.
