The report of the first deputy Prime-Minister of Government RB, Minister of agriculture RB Shamil Vahitov at the seminar for the heads of municipal formations was dedicated to the main directions and prospects in development of the Republican agriculture. He briefly told about work balance of the branch in 2009 and urged the participants of the seminar to raise the role of municipal formations in development of agricultural complex.

In 2009 even under the terms of the crisis the Bashkir agrarians managed to achieve certain growth of agricultural production and provided stable growth of poultry and cattle livestock. At the same time the cut-back of the livestock was registered in seven regions of Bashkortostan. In this connection Shamil Vahitov urged the agrarians to start working not just with milk cattle-breeding but also with meat cattle-breeding more actively. Development of this direction is funded by the state budget now.

It was noted the Republic accumulated high potential for development of herd horse-breeding. Now it is very profitable to be engaged in horse-breeding because horse meat prices remain rather high.

Special attention was paid to modernization of the Republican agriculture in the report. Thus, 2222 units of new machinery for the sum of more than 2,3 billion rubles have been purchased for the needs of agriculture in 2009. In 2010 the renovation of the train of the machines will be continued.

At the end of the report Shamil Vahitov stated that development of private auxiliary farmings would stand in the list of the prior directions in Bashkortostan in 2010.
