Meeting with the senator Stephan Kirichuk

On January 19 the President RB Murtaza Rakhimov held a work meeting with the chairman of Russian Federation Council local self-government committee Stephan Kirichuk in the Republic House. The senator arrived in Ufa to take part in the seminar for the heads of regional and city administrations.

Development of local self-government system and measures on consolidation of the financial base of the municipalities were under discussion during the meeting.

The chairman of the Federation Council self-government committee pointed to the importance of holding the training seminars for the heads of municipal and city districts.

“Not every region can afford to hold so wide-scaled refresher courses for the heads of municipal formations and not in every Russian region so high attention is paid to development of local self-government system” – Stephan Kirichuk mentioned.

According to him at the nearest meeting of the State Council the President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev intends to consider the situation with the political system in the country, including local self-government. “And here in Bashkortostan these questions are under discussion already today” –the senator said.

In the course of the meeting the President RB Murtaza Rakhimov made some notes concerning the system of taxation and budget relations between different power branches. Stephan Kirichuk answered that all constructive proposals would be considered by the Federation Council self-government committee in corpore.

The Chairman of the State Council-Kurultay-RB Constantine Tolkatchev also participated in the meeting.
