The scientist from Ufa Simeon Gutin is included in the staff of the expert group of the project “Eugene” – the Academician Network European and World Technical Education. The European colleagues estimated his designs in “e-learning” sphere at their true worth.
The project “Eugene” is approved and financed by the European Commission in 2009-2011 and leading specialists and researchers all over the world are the members of the Academician network. Simeon Gutin has become the only expert from Russia. At the end of the last year he has taken part in the project’s opening – the initial meeting, held at the Florence University in Italy.
As the scientist told, his acquaintance with the colleagues from Florence University has taken place in 2007 at one of the international scientific conferences in Moscow. He presented them his book under the name “IT in sketch designing and optimization of parameters for cylindrical reduction gear units”.
Simeon Gutin is busy with the designing in this sphere in the course of many years and the book, published in 2004, was the summary of his researches. The results of his works and the software, made by him, aroused the interest of the Italian scientists, who were just working over a new e-learning project in sphere of engineering technical education that moment.
“This software is meant for technical specialties, which curriculum includes such disciplines as machine elements and applied mechanics” – the scientist explained – “and it includes the calculating functions, optimization of the parameters and sketch assembling of the cylindrical reduction gear units. With the help of this software students can perform virtual laboratory and research works and pedagogues can use it during the lectures and practical lessons. Besides, the software can be demanded by the design offices, specializing in designing of the reduction gear units”.
On February 11 Simeon Gutin will take part in the first meeting of the workgroup of the Academician network in Brussels and “European engineering standards and qualification structures”, “Comparable analysis of the European engineering software standards accreditation agency and the standards of the International Engineering Alliance”, “International engineering standards” and “Mutual recognition of engineering diplomas” will become the topics, offered for discussion.
