The celebration in honour of Akhmet-Zaki Validi scholarship holders took place in the RB Ministry of Education. This year scholarships are granted for the fourth time. Their holders are 15 university students and postgraduates having achievements in educational and research activity connected with the history of Bashkortostan. Zinnat Allayarov, the RB Minister of Education, congratulated the talented young people.

"The Government of the Republic pays a lot of attention to support of capable young people," he said. "Since 1994, 335 scholarships of the President of Bashkortostan are annually granted to students, postgraduates and doctoral candidates of state postsecondary institutions. Akmulla, Muksinov and Karim scholarship are established."

Zinnat Allayarov reminded that establishment of Akhmet Zaki Validi scholarship in 2005 was connected with 115th anniversary of birth of this outstanding orientalist and political leader, the founder of the Bashkir Autonomous Republic. Students and postgraduates of higher educational institutions who achieved high results in educational and research activity connected with study of the history of Bashkortostan may lay claim to this scholarship annually.

It should be mentioned that last year the Resolution of the RB Government increased the scholarship rate. While in 2005-2007 students got 600 roubles, now this sum comes to 1200 roubles. Postgraduates will receive 2000 roubles instead of previous 1200 roubles.
