Social-economic development in the north-western economic zone of Bashkortostan was under consideration at the meeting in the town of Durtuli under chairmanship of the Prime-Minister of Government RB Rail Sarbaev. This was already the third zone gathering re industry, building, agriculture, education, health protection, housing-communal services, social measures etc.
The north-western economic zone includes 15 municipalities and two city districts. It covers 20% of the Republican territory and 17% of the Republican population lives here. In January-November 2009 the share of this zone’s enterprises and organizations in the overall volume of shipped off output in the Republic made about 5,7% and the share of the housing, put into operation, was equal to 17,6%.
The series of zone meetings, held by the Prime-Minister is aimed first of all at operative solution of arising problems and at disclosure of weak spots. The north-western economic zone develops stably and the problems in economics, caused by the global crisis, are solved with direct participation of the Republican leadership.
“The north-western regions RB work stably and their indices look quite well, especially in agriculture” – Rail Sarbaev said to journalists after the meeting – “The only really big problem is the town of Agidel. This is the mono-town with all its negative attributes and now I can’t definitely say that in the nearest future the situation there will change for the better. We will help the town and will solve its problems, including the assistance at the federal level. We have some projects for this town and we will advance these projects”.
