Unicellular algae are removed from the Red Book RB

author: Galya Nabieva

Unicellular algae are excluded from the Red Book’s chapter “Mosses, algae, lichens and mushrooms” because the threat of their total disappearance is absent. This decision was made at the meeting of the commission on rare species of animals, plants and mushrooms and species, found under the threat of disappearance. It is quite possible the electronic version of the Red Book RB will appear in the nearest future. The new version of the printed edition will be considered in the first half of 2010.
