The round table to the topic “Practice and prospects of development of the relations between Republic of Bashkortostan and the regions of Belarus within the frames of the unity state”, devoted to the unity state’s 10th anniversary, has taken place in Ufa with participation of officials, national public communities, business communities and activists of science and culture. Participants of the conference were discussing a wide circle of questions concerning interaction between Bashkortostan and Belarus.
The State Advisor under President RB Sergey Lavrentiev mentioned that by the 10th anniversary of the unity state several arrangements were dated in Bashkortostan: the Byelorussian filmfest, the concert of Byelorussian amateur folk collectives, working on the base of the Byelorussian historical-cultural center, the visit of the official delegation RB in the staff of Volga federal district’s business mission to Minsk and wide response in the Republican mass-media.
“The striving of the nations for unity is the main factor, which won’t let the politicians leave the way of the unity state” – Sergey Lavrentiev underscored in his speech – “That is why the role of people’s diplomacy in this process can hardly be overestimated. We are united with great number of family, kindred, friendly and business relations and these relations form the foundation of the ongoing integration process, so these ten years are not the good round figure of the paper treaty but a new stage, called to form the unity of our nations and able to develop itself under the terms of modern process of globalization and post-industrial development”.
The dynamic development of Byelorussian-Bashkir relations, based on the inter-governmental agreement about trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation between Byelorussian Government and Bashkortostan’s Government, is a good example. Thus, if the trade circulation between our republics made 82 million USD in 2000, then for the last seven years it increased 4,6 times, making almost 250 million USD in 2008. It has increased by 40% even in 2008 during the crisis. The Byelorussian enterprises on production of refrigerators, agricultural machines, dump trucks, light and food industry are widely presented in the market of Bashkortostan and Byelorussia exports Bashkir oil products, polymers, plastics, ferrous metals, caoutchouc, rubber etc.
The Byelorussian diaspora in Bashkortostan (more than 17 thousand people) makes its endowment to social-economic and cultural development of our Republic. The Republican national-cultural center “SPADCHYNA” and the historical-cultural center “BALTIKA” work in Iglinsky region of Bashkortostan. Byelorussian language is studied at two schools of this region.
The head of Byelorussian Embassy office in Ufa Oleg Isaev said the process of uniting between out states had solid foundation of common spirituality, historical and human destinies and mutual interest in joint stable development of our countries. Characterizing close interaction of our economies Oleg Isaev mentioned that more than 29 thousand enterprises cooperated from both parties for today and that meant about 10 million workplaces. We jointly produce tractors, cars, dump trucks etc.
“The potential of our joint program is rather substantial and is turning to the sphere of space cooperation now because we begin the joint work on production of a Russian-Byelorussian satellite” – Oleg Isaev reported.
The first deputy Minister of industry and external economic relations RB Viloy Yakupov, chairman of the Trade-Industry Chamber RB Sergey Efremov, Chairman of the Public Chamber RB, Vice-President of the Academy of sciences RB Asgat Gumerov and chairman of the Byelorussian national-cultural center “SPADCHYNA” Igor Lyasovitch were also present at the conference. The participants of the “round table” have highly estimated cooperation between Bashkortostan and Belarus and declared for its expansion at the interregional and municipal levels.
