Victor Sadovnichy, the chancellor of Moscow State University is Honorary Doctor of the BSU

Victor Sadovnichy, the chancellor of Lomonosov Moscow State University, was given the title of the Honorary Doctor of the Bashkir State University. The BSU chancellor Mukhamet Harrasov presented him with a mantle and a diploma of the Honorary Doctor.

Victor Sadovnicy was among guests arriving in Ufa from all over the world within the framework of the festive events devoted to the centenary of the BSU.

"I am very glad to take part in this celebration," Victor Sadovnichy said. "Bashkortostan is very close to me, as my first postgraduates students were graduates of Ufa higher education institutions. They successfully defended their theses and some of them are Doctors of Sciences now. The BSU chancellor Muchamet Harrasov was also the student of Moscow State University; he even attended my lecturers on functional analysis."

Victor Sadovnichy reminded that the history of the higher education in Russia starts with the foundation of Moscow State University, which was followed by universities in other major Russian cities, including Ufa. The MSU chancellor called the centenary of the higher education in Bashkortostan an important historic event.
