Distance learning of handicapped children launched in Bashkortostan

The project on distance learning of handicapped children is being launched in Bashkortostan within the framework of "Education" national project. According to this project, a distance-learning centre, where a child can get knowledge via computer technologies and the Internet will be created in every region of the Russian Federation. In Bashkortostan, this social project will be realized in Ufa special (correctional) school N13.

"It will be republican distance learning school N1 educating handicapped children," Zulfia Akhmetova, the RB Deputy Minister of Education, told to Bashinform News Agency. "The building of the educational institution is ready, it is being renovated now. Early in Spring 60 pupils from Ufa and its vicinities unable to visit school for heath reasons will start to study at home using their computers. A child will be able to learn not only exact and humane sciences but will also learn to sing and to dance. Their right for education and development will be realized to a greater extent than it used to be."

Funds for distance learning of handicapped children, as well as for the Internet were allocated from the federal and republican budgets. About 13 million roubles from the federal budget and 10 million roubles from the budget of our republic have already arrived. The auction for the purchase of computer equipment has been announced.

In future, there is going to be more children studying within the framework of this program.
