The regional round of Students in Free Enterprise contest (SIFE) is going on in Ufa Trade and Economics College. It is the tenth show of business and socially oriented projects of students. The main aim of the contest is promotion of entrepreneurship among students.
We remind that SIFE is a large-scale international program giving its participants an opportunity to realize their creative and innovative projects in the sphere of economy and free enterprise teaching. SIFE system has a yearly cycle: it includes regional and national contests and ends with the SIFE World Cup.
Five teams of specialized secondary schools and seven teams of Ufa universities presented their projects the day before. A special contest committee including specialists of the Ministry for Industry and External Economic Relations RB, Ministry for Youth Policy, Sports and Tourism RB, businesspersons will estimate their marketability and social orientation.
Maria Petrukhina, the director of SIFE-Russia Program noticed that Bashkir teams are very ambitious and creative.
"The participants fr om Bashkortostan have great potential, as the region provides all the conditions for them to realize their projects," Maria Petrukhina says. "I would like to make a special mention of Sibay team, who was once the prize-winner of the all-Russian contest and represented our country on the World Cup. I am glad that all participants of this contest are people of single purpose. By the way, Bashkortostan is the leader by the number of teams.
There are a lot of projects on domestic travel this year, as this direction is in great demand now. Service rendering projects are also quite numerous. Some of them were realized while being worked out.
Eight university teams of our republic are to defend their projects on November 25. The super final wh ere six teams will meet is going to take place after that. The all-Russian round will be in May, and the SIFE World Cup is expected on 10.10.2010 and will take place in Los Angeles.
