The questions of the rise of the technological level in oil and gas-chemical industry of Russia, interaction between state and business in the branch and problems of anti-monopoly regulations in the oil-gas-chemical markets were under discussion at the meeting.
Vladimir Putin mentioned that Russia provided about 9-10% of the world crude oil export but at that its share in the export of such high-tech processing product as, for example polymers made less than 1% and more than one third of the internal oil-chemical output consumption fell on import.
“Simply speaking we sell crude oil and at the same time import ready-made products, probably made of our raw materials” – Vladimir Putin underscored.
The Chairman of Russian Government urged to alter the situation and said that Russian oil-chemistry possessed the most important competitive advantage – the unique raw material base. According to M-r Putin “only really competitive companies can figure on state funds and we mustn’t support inefficient productions afloat by any means”.
President RB came out with his opinion concerning the state of affairs in Russian oil-gas-chemical industry and said that this branch was the most important constituent of Russian economics and the future of the country in many respects depended upon its successful progress. The head of Bashkortostan underscored that Bashkir authorities always paid serious attention to modernization of the fuel-energy complex. The strategy of development in the branch is oriented first of all to activation of innovational activity, mastering of new production processes and new sorts of output.
President RB emphasized the necessity of the meeting re development of gas and oil-chemistry in Russia and said that the future belonged to such oil-chemical enterprises, working on the territory of Bashkortostan as JSC “Soda”, JSC “Caustic” and JSC “SALAVATNEFTEORGSINTEZ”. In opinion of Murtaza Rakhimov the success of such enterprises in many respects depends upon professionalism of its management.
