The all-Russian population census will nevertheless take place in 2010. The Chairman of Russian Government Vladimir Putin announced the recommencement of preparations for it. Russian population also shares the opinion of the leadership of the country concerning the necessity of holding the census – these are the results of the public opinion survey, made by “The agency of social information Saint-Petersburg” by the instructions of Russian State Statistics Committee. 84% of population says the census is necessary, 7% have no definite opinion and only 9% say the census is useless. 47% are ready to answer all questions and other 39% intend to take part in the census. 4% are strongly against any questions and 5% say they won’t probably take part in the census.
