President RB Murtaza Rakhimov has visited JSC “Caustic” today, where new innovational production line was launched. In particular, technological innovations in production of polyvinylchloride and vinylchloride are introduced here.
The essence of the enterprise’s innovational policy for the last three years was making the conditions for increase of the capacities for production of the abovementioned products up to 200 thousand tons annually and up to 400 thousand tons by 2012. The total volume of investments is determined at the rate of 2,6 billion rubles.
At the moment when the board of directors approved the strategy of the plant’s development in November 2007, the active production of polyvinylchloride consisted of the unit with the project capacity at 120 thousand tons annually and the obsolete unit with the capacity at 30 thousand tons, working at the plant since 1966. It was decided to dismantle it and to introduce the pre-planned innovations on the base of the plant’s capacities, reconstructed in 1996.
President of Bashkortostan was told about the huge scope of works done. In the course of modernization 32 Russian and foreign companies were involved in this process but the preference was given to the companies of Bashkortostan first of all. Cooperating with the leading Russian and foreign purveyors and designers specialists of JSC “Caustic” never deviated from the schedule. In the course of the modernization about 100 new workplaces were opened at the plant and special attention was paid to environmental arrangements. Thus, the system of atmospheric air monitoring was put into operation and the volume of investments made 9,178 million rubles.
In the middle of November 2009 the polyvinylchloride and vinylchloride production complex reached a new work mode and the planned production capacity will be reached approximately in a month.
President of Bashkortostan has become acquainted with the new production and was interested in technical details of the process. At present time the refurbished line is able to produce up to 200 thousand tons of polyvinylchloride annually but the output can be increased up to 20-30 thousand tons per year. Similar project is developed in Nizhniy Novgorod by the company “SIBUR”. At present time the need in polyvinylchloride in Russia makes 900 thousand tons per year and after the modernized capacities of JSC “Caustic” are put into operation, the production of polyvinylchloride in Russia raises up to 550 thousand tons annually.
