The IV all-Russian seminar for the directors of Interpol national central bureau under Russian Ministry of internal affairs, city and district internal affairs departments on Russian regions is opened in Ministry of internal affairs in Republic of Bashkortostan today. Heads of Interpol national central bureau under Russian Ministry of internal affairs and its divisions, representatives of the General Office of Public Prosecutor, Federal Customs Service and other law-enforcement bodies of Russia are taking part in its work. Interpol is the largest police organization, which coordinates practical police operations in several countries, contributes to its well-balanced activity, coordinates the terms and beginnings of such operations with all countries involved and issues international arrest warrants.
Thanks to its staff and the unique structure, the legal base and technical equipping Interpol provides international police cooperation efficiently and rationally. At present time 187 states are the members of this organization, including Russia.
“The offices of Interpol national central bureau are present in all Russian regions and for today the number of these offices is 74” – the director of Interpol national central bureau in Russia Timur Lakhonin stated – “This is the most productive potential, which allows us to interact not just with Russian law-enforcement boards but with foreign ones too”.
The capital of Bashkortostan was chosen the site for holding of this forum not accidentally. The Republican office of Interpol national central bureau is considered one of the best by the quality of its work and by the work results. The employees of Bashkortostan’s law-enforcement bodies actively use the resources of Interpol and the leadership of Russian Ministry of internal affairs in RB pays close attention to this direction of its work.
“The Bashkir office of Interpol national central bureau has the access to databases not just of the Russian bureau but of Interpol General Secretariat too” – the head of the local office of Interpol national central bureau Arthur Sultanov says. Along with the clearance of crimes the employees of Interpol are occupied in the personal quests. At present time 15 people, suspected of commitment of different crimes and nine people, reported missing, are found under criminal investigation. Thus, the citizen of Kazakhstan, who had committed the crime, classified as the contraband of drugs, on the territory of Bashkortostan, has been arrested in Germany not long ago. He was arrested there for the same crime and further was extradited to Russia. Now he serves his sentence in one of the Republican correctional facilities.
The seminar will last till September 24 and its participants will discuss the international experience in sphere of struggle with organized criminality, with criminality in sphere of economics, illegal migration, contraband of natural resources and the usage of Interpol channels for international arrest warrants for criminals and missing people.
