The modern equestrian center “RIFEY”, which meets all international standards, is opened in Chelyabinsk region this summer. Official delegation of Bashkortostan with President of the Republic Murtaza Rakhimov at the head visited the center today within the frames of the official visit to Chelyabinsk. The Governor of Chelyabinsk region Peter Sumin has reached the decision to erect a principally new equestrian center in December 2007. Local budget allocated 520 million rubles for that. The interest in equestrian sport and in riding has noticeably grown up in South Ural recently. More than 10 riding clubs were opened on the territory of the region but none of these centers met modern requirements. In opinion of the regional leadership the modern center has to contribute to development and popularization of classical equestrian sport as one of the Olympic kinds of sport.
The center “RIFEY” consists of the block of stables, meant for 60 horses with the passage gallery, the riding hall 80x40 square meters and the stands. The children’s riding school is the main object here. In total complexity about 200 children will study at this school. Large regional and all-Russian competitions are held in the riding-hall with the unique coatings. International tournaments on show jumping, vaulting and dressage are planned too. Thanks to the center the professional riders received the opportunity to train here all the year round, not leaving the region. The riding school will become a member of the all-Russian equestrian association and the International Equestrian Federation.
Development of equestrian sport is one more sphere of mutual interest of Bashkortostan and Chelyabinsk region. The wide-scaled reconstruction of the hippodrome “AKBUZAT” has been held not long ago in Ufa too and Republican budget funded this reconstruction. At present time it is quite possible to start holding international riding competitions in Ufa.
