President RB Murtaza Rakhimov held a meeting with the rector of Karlsruhe University, Professor Horst Hippler

President of Bashkortostan Murtaza Rakhimov held a work meeting with the rector of Karlsruhe University, Professor Horst Hippler in the Republic House today.

The questions of cooperation in sphere of science and innovational technologies between Bashkortostan and Germany were under discussion. The prospects of further exchange of experience and expansion of relations between higher education institutions were under consideration too. President RB mentioned in the course of the meeting that Republic of Bashkortostan laid high emphasis on the aspects of integration between science and the main spheres of economics and public life. Innovational activity is growing up not just at the industrial enterprises but scientific and education institutions begin actively joining this process too, President RB underscored.

Professor Horst Hippler pointed to the high level of specialists’ training at the technical institutions RB.

“I see the higher education institutions in Ufa are well-equipped technically and we intend to develop joint cooperation in sphere of robotics and propulsion engineering and ready to work over designing of new technologies in sphere of water resources” – the rector of Karlsruhe University said.

Karlsruhe University actively supports joint investigations with Ufa State Aviation Technical University since 1990. Beginning from 2008 the universities actively work on the project “TEMPUS” – “The Elaboration of the perspective curriculum “Intellectual Systems”. The rector of Karlsruhe University thanked President RB for support of the scientific community and expressed readiness to work jointly over new projects.

The State Advisor under President RB Sergey Lavrentiev and the rector of Ufa State Aviation Technical University Murat Guzairov also participated in the meeting.

Karlsruhe University (founded in 1825) is considered the oldest technical higher education institution in Germany and the fourth institution in Europe after the Prague, Paris and Vienna universities. The university is considered one of the best German higher education institutions in sphere of education researches. About 18 thousand students study there and foreigners form 20%. 11 faculties of the University work on 43 education programs.
