United Nations Organization is offered to establish the World Day of Bee Protection
Bashkir bee-keepers appealed to the United Nations Organization with the call to establish the World Day of Bee Protection. The date proposed by them is the 14th of September.
It is stated in the letter, sent to UNO by the company “TENTORIUM”: “Bees are an important link in the process of preservation and replenishment of ecologically clean natural resources and bees are the only insects in the world, indirectly participating in production of many sorts of natural products. Bees are capable to purify foods from harmful admixtures and bees are used for ecological monitoring of territories. Bee-keeping products possess the ability to restore the functioning of the majority of systems in a human body”.
The initiative of “TENTORIUM” is backed by the regional scientific-production center “Bashkir Honey”. The date of September 14 is chosen not accidentally: on this day the bee-keeping season in different nooks of the Earth is either already closed or not yet declared open. Besides, in the course of many years the bee-keepers in Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and in the Baltic states celebrate the holiday of bee-hive closure on this very day.
As the authors of the letter believe, establishment of the Bee Protection Day will allow uniting the efforts of the whole world on protection and preservation of bees. It is suggested to realize various programs and actions in order to attract public attention to this problem on September 14.
