Project “Youth parliamentarism: specialists of the future” will be achieved in Volga federal district in 2009

The project “Youth parliamentarism: specialists of the future” will be achieved in Volga federal district in 2009. The site of the Plenipotentiary of President RF in Volga federal district reports the essence of the project is formation of the system, consisting of youth parliamentary structures at municipal and regional levels. Youth involving in public-political processes, assistance to formation of professional reserve of specialists for authority at municipal, regional and federal levels stand among the key goals of the project. The first meeting of the project’s steering committee is appointed on the end of July. The staff of the committee will consist of representatives of Russian Central Election Committee, the Association of legislative (representative) state authorities of the territories, found in the staff of Volga federal district, the all-Russian Local Self-Government Council, the Association of youth parliaments RF and mass-media. The project is expected to be achieved in all regions in the staff of Volga federal district. More than 100 thousand young people will participate in formation of youth parliaments and by the end of November about ten thousand youth leaders will be elected into municipal youth parliamentary structures. Initiators of the project were in many respects guided by the experience of Bashkortostan. At the “round table” of the leaders of youth public communities of Volga federal district chairman of the Youth Chamber RB Ruslan Gizatullin told about achievement of the pilot project on establishment of the Youth Chamber in Bashkortostan. The Plenipotentiary of President RF in Volga federal district Gregory Rapota called the project an efficient method for formation of leadership skills among young people. The experience RB on formation of youth consultative structures under representative local self-government boards turned out to be unique, Ruslan Gizatullin said. There is no such practice in Volga federal district yet.

“Youth councils can become an efficient mechanism for protection of youth interests, for training of the specialists’ reserve for regional administrations and for effective cooperation between different public organizations” – chairman of the Youth Chamber RB Ruslan Gizatullin believes.

Productive activity of the Youth Chamber RB was noticed at the all-Russian level. It is not occasionally that development of youth parliamentarism at the municipal level in Bashkortostan was announced the pilot project for the whole of Russia by the Association of youth parliaments RF and Ruslan Gizatullin was appointed the head of the Commission on the affairs of public communities and development of youth parliamentarism under Russian State Duma.
