Official delegation of Udmurt Republic’s State Council was received by chairman of State Council-Kurultay-RB Constantine Tolkatchev today. The speaker of Bashkir parliament and the head of Udmurt delegation, vice-speaker of Udmurt parliament Vladimir Nevostruev exchanged information about social-economic situation in their regions, their achievements and problems. The parties expressed common opinion re interrelations between the federal center and Russian regions, including such sphere as lawmaking.
Constantine Tolkatchev laid special emphasis on such actual problem as the regional component in the system of education, which was cancelled by the law, passed by Russian State Duma. Chairman of State Council RB believes that all languages should have equal rights and the national policy in Bashkortostan is aimed at that. The guests agreed with the position of Bashkortostan on this problem but mentioned that Udmurt Republic hadn’t yet undertaken any steps on protection of equal rights for national languages and on the possibility to preserve one’s national culture in full measure like in Bashkortostan.
