About two thousand elections of different levels will take place in Russia on October 11 – the next general voting day. Along with two regional parliamentary elections – in Tula region and in Republic of Mari-Al – the gubernatorial elections in Groznyy, Astrakhan, Uzno-Sakhalinsk and Narian-Mar are appointed on this date. The secretary of Russian Central Election Committee Nikolai Konkin reports, sited by www.er.ru, that it is quite possible that full-value electronic voting will be held on October 11 but it will happen only if the State Duma introduces corresponding amendments to the federal law about main suffrage guarantees. Russian Central Election Committee has prepared such proposals but they have to be approved till the end of July, when elections are appointed in Russian regions. It is planned to approve legally at least one of the types of electronic voting, used during the elections on March 1 as an experiment.
