International forum” Alternative power-engineering and energy-saving: the prospects of development” has taken place in Orenburg. Power-engineers and representatives of other branches of economics fr om Russia and CIS have taken part in it.
The “round table” to the theme: “Alternative local energy-supplying systems on rural territories by the example of Volga federal district” has taken place within the frames of the forum on the base of the center “KRASNAYA GORA” in the settlement SARAKTASH, where the models of alternative energy units were demonstrated.
At present time the whole alternative power-engineering gives less than 1% of all-Russian energy output but by 2020 its share in Russian energy balance should increase up to 4,5%. Russian Government stimulates development of alternative power-engineering and every potential investor, who invests in alternative energy, will receive the fixed repayment fr om the state for every kilowatt-hour of electric energy, obtained with the help of alternative power units.
As for the renewable energy sources, Russia mainly uses only hydro-resources but renewable sources of energy include wind energy, energy stations, which use the energy of sea tides, solar batteries etc. At present time just several such projects are functioning in the country, such as wind stations in Bashkortostan and Kaliningrad region, geo-thermal stations on Kamchatka (about 60 megawatts) and the tidal electric station on the Kola Peninsula.
As the deputy General Director, academician of Russian Academy of natural sciences Nikolai Malutin reports Bashkiria can be called an excellent place, where one can use solar energy.
“Unlike rainy and foggy Moscow and Moscow region you have many sunny days here” – he said – “Bashkiria can become a pioneer in this sphere in Volga federal district, if it starts achieving the program on solar energy usage because you have everything for that – the material base and qualified specialists. Similar programs are already achieved in Mexico, Canada and Australia. Japan, Korea and China actively develop production of solar batteries. For example, the leading enterprise in this sphere, the company “MECALAR” faced 2400%-growth of the cost of its shares in 2008! The deliveries of solar batteries at its plants are scheduled three years ahead and customers stand in queue. What profits can such projects bring? First, it means progressive technologies and second, these technologies save money. You have to look forward because in any case Russia will join WTO sooner or later and it means that it has to put the cost of its energy resources in accordance with the average indices in Europe. If Bashkiria starts developing such programs now it means the stress because of the imminent rise of energy prices doesn’t threaten it” – Nikolai Malutin believes.
