The river of Ural, being the watershed between Europe and Asia, combined these two vast mainlands into one conglomeration of cultures and nations, which modern Bashkirs considered one of the successors. Bashkir scientists extract the ancient layers, connected with Finno-Ugric, Indo-Iranian, ancient Turk, Mongolian and other components in material and spiritual culture of Bashkir nation. These components reflect the concrete stages of Bashkir ethnogeny and ethnic history, related to Sarmatian and Hun, ancient Turk and other tribes and to the epoch of the Golden Horde. The voluntary joining the staff of Russian state by Bashkirs in 1557 was an important event in ethnic culture of Bashkirs. All these stages in the history of South Ural, having influenced upon formation of the richest culture of Bashkir nation, allow talking about the phenomenon of Eurasianism in material and spiritual culture, ethnic history, anthropology and ethnogeny of Bashkirs.
