First copper pyrite ore from new deposit will be received in July

JSC “UTCHALINSKY ore mining and processing enterprise” intends to receive the first ore from the Western-Lake copper pyrite deposit on July 10.

The enterprise has won the tender for the right to develop the deposit in November 2007. Acessway works started in 2008. 910 thousand cubic meters of overburden rock have been excavated. In 2009 the volume of accessway works will make up 2,5 million cubic meters.

In 2010 when the deposit will start working full-time 550 thousand tons of ore will be delivered to the ore mill. The reserves of the deposit make up 47 million tons of copper pyrite ore and it will be enough for the miners for 20 years ahead. Now the extraction of ore will be done by the open-pit method. With its help one will be able to extract about six million tons. After the open-pit is exhausted, the miners will start underground works and it means other 41 million tons.

Prime-Minister of Government RB Rail Sarbaev became acquainted with the progress of work in the course of his working trip. The first deputy Prime-Minister of Government RB, Minister of agriculture RB Shamil Vahitov RB is accompanying him.
