“The First Autonomy” – this is the name of the documentary exhibition, opened at the Central State Archive RB and dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the first autonomous republic foundation in the staff of Russian Federation – Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.
After the February revolution in 1917 all prerequisites for appearance and development of Bashkir national movement and autonomous state system have appeared in the country. The exhibition demonstrates the main document of the First all-Russian Muslim Congress, which had taken place in Moscow at the beginning of May 1917. The Congress for the first time considered the project of Bashkir Autonomy foundation within the borders of Small Bashkiria. Here Bashkir delegation has determined its position – standing for democratic Russia, established on national-territorial-federative principles.
The information about the Caravansary – the Bashkir national home, located in Orenburg, where two of three first all-Bashkir congresses had been held in 1917, is available here too. Special attention is paid to the decisions of these congresses.
Visitors of the exhibition may get the information about foundation of Big Bashkiria. There is the copy of Bashkortostan’s map, composed by Z. Validov.
The agreement on March 20,1919, has legally registered the new political and state-lawful status RB as an autonomous part of federative Russia.
