Ministry of ecology RB is busy with establishment of international relations. Within the frames of the agreement between Republic of Bashkortostan and Free State of Saxony specialists of the Ministry perform the works on launching the automated environment monitoring system in the Republic. Launching of the atmospheric air monitoring system in the city of Sterlitamac will be the first stage of this work. The industrial zone in this city is located within the city boundaries and the problem of atmospheric air pollution is considered very painful. The project of the monitoring system presumes installation of five automatic stations for air control in different districts of the city. The units of Japanese company “HORIBA” and Dutch company “SYNSPEK” will be used for monitor air quality. At the end of 2008 all units have been delivered to Sterlitamac. At present time specialists are installing one automated station for air control and air control detectors at the biggest city enterprises – JSC “Caustic”, JSC “Soda” and JSC “Sterlitamac’s oil-chemical plant”, considered the main city polluters. The automated control station will check the content of carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, ozone and aromatic chloride-organic compounds in atmosphere.
In September 2009 Saxon Ministry of ecology and agriculture and the company “SARAD” have held special training of specialists from Sterlitamac and Ministry of ecology RB, who had to serve the stations and the detectors.
After Sterlitamac these stations will be step-by-step installed in other cities RB. It is expected the whole process of introduction of the automated environment monitoring system in the Republic will spend several years.
