Employment for youth and job placement for graduates of professional colleges, secondary and higher education institutions were under discussion of Government RB on Tuesday. Here the first meeting of the interdepartmental commission on youthful policy in 2009 has taken place, headed by the deputy Prime-Minister of Government RB, Minister of culture and national politics RB Ildus Ilishev.
Job placement for young people under conditions of the economic crisis is considered one of the most actual challenges in the country today. Ildus Ilishev underscored that the question is of paramount importance so it required well-coordinated actions of all ministries and departments involved. About 70 thousand graduates will finish primary, secondary and higher professional education institutions this year, including 45 day-time students. 7,3 thousand will be recruited to Armed Forces, 5,7 thousand will continue their studies further. It means that 31970 graduates will come in the labor market according to information of deputy Minister of education RB Elena Kozlova. 2829 youngsters have a chance to fail with future jobs. Young humanitarians, economists and pedagogues have the highest chances to stay jobless.
“Though the risk of unemployment for graduates of professional education institutions makes up 11% on March 1, 2009, on the country scale, and according to information of Ministry of education RB the figure will be just 6,3% in Bashkortostan, we have no grounds to settle down because these figures have stable tendency to further growth” – Elena Kozlova underscored.
In this connection the main educational department RB prepared and started the complex of measures, called to youth support and lowering of intensity in labor market. In particular, municipal administrations are informed about possibility of local education institutions to provide professional training and retraining of unemployed youngsters jointly with the territorial employment services. Besides, the centers for assistance to youth job placement and employment work now under all institutions of secondary and higher professional education.
The plan of actions of the interdepartmental commission in 2009 was also discussed at the meeting. The next such meeting will take place on May.
