Rescuers disinfect social facilities with hot fog combatting COVID-19 in Bashkiria
Since the beginning of April, rescuers have been disinfecting the premises of social facilities using a hot fog generator in the city of Sibay. Measures have been taken to prevent the coronavirus infection spread.
“From morning to late evening, rescuers are engaged in disinfection. Only on April 8, more than 7.5 thousand square meters with a high concentration of people were processed(this is about 45 facilities): ambulance department, city markets, pubic utility offices, social welfare departments, post offices, bus stops, car services, supermarkets, and small grocery stores”, said Ildar Hamitov, the head of the emergency rescue service of the State Committee for Emergency Situations RB.
The solution is fed to a hot pipe, turning into a fog. Under the influence of high temperature, the solution splits into small drops. Their size is slightly larger than the size of the virus itself. Drops destroy the virus both in the air and on the surface of objects. A thick cloud of disinfectant penetrates even microcracks and inaccessible places. Gradually, the fog cools and shifts downward, covering all surfaces with a thin layer of disinfecting liquid.
Experts are fully equipped to work with hot fog: they wear protective suits and gas masks. It is noted that the technology itself is safe for people.
