6th World Folkloriada is postponed to next year due to coronavirus pandemic
A major international festival of traditional culture – 6th World Folkloriada will not take place this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. This was announced by the Head of the Republic Radiy Khabirov at a meeting with the chief editors of leading media.
Today, the Bashkortostan Government received an official proposal for postponement from the CIOFF international organization. World Folkloriada is moved to the next 2021.
“It is postponed to the next year, although it was supposed to take place at the end of July. It is impossible to think that the coronavirus will pass in a month. It will take more time”, the head of the region said.
The Republic of Bashkortostan has been preparing for the largest cultural event for several years. The 6th World Folkloriada was to be held from July 18 to August 1, 2020. About 80 countries of the world were announced as the festival participants.
