Corruption investigations by Investigative Committee compensated state for 144 million rubles in Bashkiria
Investigations by the Investigative Committee for Bashkiria in 2019 compensated the state for 144 million rubles; in total, the damages recovered amounted to 256 million. The Investigative Committee investigated more than half of the total number of economic crimes and 77% of corruption ones.
The homicide-solving rate was 94%, the intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm with the fatal outcome — 99%.
14 murders remained unsolved.
The figures were announced at the board of the department, which was held with the participation of the Head of Bashkiria Radiy Khabirov. The head of the region urged investigators to step up the fight against economic and corruption crimes: “The country is undergoing large-scale transformations initiated by the head of state Vladimir Putin in the economy and social sphere. Regions receive billions of funds through national projects. With these funds, kindergartens and schools, polyclinics and hospitals, residential buildings, and roads are being built”.
