HIV in Russia, the Epidemic No One Is Talking About,
Yuri Dud, a popular Russian presenter and author of the VDud program, released the film “HIV in Russia, the Epidemic No One Is Talking About”.
After the premiere of the film, an increase in the number of people applied to AIDS prevention centers is recorded across Russia. More than 13 million people have already watched the film, and the number of queries with the word “HIV” on Google alone has grown 14 times.
“In the Ufa AIDS center, on average, we examine 20-30 people; sometimes, their number increases to 50. In 2019, 500 thousand people were examined in Bashkiria, 2,705 infected with HIV were detected”, said the head of the immunization department of the Republican Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS and Infectious Diseases Guzel Gabitova.
Any citizen of Russia can contact the center: the analysis can be taken anonymously, as well as can be received in hard copy — in this case, one will need to present a passport.
One can take an express HIV test in the Multifunctional Center office in Gubaidullin Street, 6. Once a week, from February 20, a nurse, a laboratory assistant, and psychologist will work in the office. The result can be obtained after 15 minutes.
Specialists will advise, talk about ways of infection, about the features of the course of the disease, and about ways to prevent infection.
