Russia’s Meteorological Office warns of possible frosts in March
The scientific director of the Meteorological Office of Russia, Roman Vilfand, said in an interview with reporters that a cold snap of minus ten degrees would be possible in the European part of Russia in March. The weather forecaster believes that March, by its climatic definition, is a winter month, so a drop in temperature should not be taken as something unusual. “This is a completely normal phenomenon, therefore, according to all calculations, we predict that in March it will most likely be a decrease to — 7-10 C,” he reported to RBC.
Earlier it was informed that the upcoming March would be the driest month of the year in the moderate climate. Precipitation will be extremely low. According to him, less precipitation is forecasted in Bashkiria, in the Kirov region, Perm region, as well as in the east of the Saratov region, in the south of the Urals, in the south of the Tyumen region, in the Omsk region, in the north of the Irkutsk region, in Trans-Baikal, in Primorye, in the south Sakhalin.
