The Russian Association of Air Transport Operators (RATOA), which unites 27 airlines of the Russian Federation, has warned of possible flight disruption on New Year's holidays. Flights can be canceled due to the lack of decisions of the Ministry of Transport on the use of about 30 aircraft.
The head of RATOA Vladimir Tasuna addressed the letter with such a warning to Alexander Yurchik, Deputy Minister of Transport. This document is posted on the association’s website, in which the current situation is called critical.
Airplanes of Russian airlines planned for operation on New Year's holidays are still not included in the annexes to the agreements that Russia has concluded in accordance with the article on the transfer of certain functions and duties of the Convention on International Civil Aviation.
“The non-inclusion of such a large number of aircraft in the appendix to the relevant agreements makes it impossible to include them in the certificates of carriers, which ultimately will lead to a massive disruption of flight programs on peak days of the New Year holidays,” the letter said.
RATOA President Vladimir Tasun asks to include airplanes in the annexes to the agreements that Russia has concluded with other countries.
