Russian-Italian Film Festival RIFF will feature 17 films of different genres in Ufa

From 5 to 15 December, Ufa will host the Russian-Italian Film Festival RIFF. Today, the organizers told the details at the press conference in the Bashinform News Agency.
The Ufa festival program includes 17 feature films and documentaries created over the past two years. Among them, there are dramas, documentaries, comedies, short films, both winners of world competitions and extraordinary films by directors-beginners.
Ufa residents will be able to watch the drama "Traitor" (Il traditore) Marco Bellocchio, which was awarded the Grand Prix of the film festival. This film was recognized as the "Best Film of the Year" according to the Italian Golden Globe film award. The "Traitor" will complete the film festival in Ufa — Ufa viewers will see it on December 15 at 5.00 pm.
As the coordinator of the Russian-Italian film festival RIFF in Ufa Gulchachak Hannanova said, the RIFF program will open on December 5 at 7.30 pm with the film "The Great Spirit" (Il grande spirito) by the famous Italian actor and director Sergio Rubini.
Viewers will see many new Italian comedies, such as “The Man Who Bought the Moon” (L'uomo che comprò la Luna) Paolo Zucchi, “Hide Grandma in the Fridge” (Metti la nonna in freezer), “When Everyone is at Home” (La casa di famiglia) by Augusto Fornari, “It all began with a stone” (La prima pietra) Rolando Ravello, “Catch the moment” and others. Romantic melodramas “Meet with Sofia” (Ti presento Sofia) by Guido Chiesa, “Love under house arrest” (L'amore a domicilio) Emiliano Corapi, the film-participant of the Venice biennale “My love” (Il bene mio) Pippo Mazzapesa with Sergio Roubini will be also screened.
Besides, the festival will host thematic days. So, on Naples Day on December 7, viewers will see the documentary “Burn Naples” (Bruciate Napoli) by Arnaldo Deleaye, the crime comedy “Bob and Marys” (Bob & Marys) by Francesco Prisco and the drama “Naples under the Veil” (Napoli velata) by the cult director Ferzan Ozpetek.
On December 8, viewers will see the documentary “Unknown Italy. Matera is a Stone City” by Francesco Invernizzi. The Rome Day on December 14, will feature the documentary film “Rome. Piazza Vittorio” by American director Abel Ferrara, the melodrama “Fortunata” by Italian film master Sergio Castellitto and the comedy “The Italian” (Bangla) by Faim Boyan, telling about the clash of Western and Eastern culture in modern Italy.
The days of the RIFF film festival will be the Days of Italian culture and language for Ufa residents. Giuseppe Lo Porto, head of the Education Department of the Consulate General of Italy in Moscow, will give lectures at Ufa universities and will visit the lyceum No. 160, the only one in Ufa where Italian is taught to schoolchildren.
The Russian-Italian Film Festival RIFF after Moscow will take place in more than 30 cities in Russia. All films will be screened in Italian with Russian subtitles.
