A program of the Salzburg Summer Festival 2020 was presented in the framework of the 8th St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum.
Ildar Abdrazakov will take part in a major international event. Russian bass, People's Artist of Bashkortostan will perform the primary aria in Mussorgsky’s opera Boris Godunov.
The anniversary International Festival will be held from July 18 to August 30, 2020. The festival will unfold at 48 venues. Festival President Helga Rabl-Stadler said at a forum in St. Petersburg that the Salzburg Festival would soon celebrate its 100th anniversary, and archives would be opened by that date to show the festival's program for a hundred years. The Russian and Greek conductor Theodor Currentzis will participate in the anniversary festival.
The Salzburg Festival has been held every summer since 1920. By tradition, its program includes concerts of academic music and musical and theatrical performances. In the summer of 2020 five premieres and two restored productions can be seen at the Salzburg Festival. Two operas will be shown in concert variations.
